1949 France
By late 1948 Folke had sufficient support to finance a year away painting in France. Firstly he and his young family stayed in Paris, Rue Monsieur Le Prince. In the spring they travelled south to the Loire Valley, staying at Amboise and then moving on to Saint-Gondon.
Folke was able to develop new styles for his painting and produced many lively and varied works. The whole family enjoyed the contrast of the stylish living near Le Jardin du Luxembourg and afterwards the simplicity and charms of French rural and farm life.
