At first there was an urgent outpouring of expressive and joyful paintings as funds had to be raised to pay for their new house, their beloved Aspnäs. Later, his brushes had to be put to one side as Folke was given many varied commissions. After 1967, these projects became fewer so Folke was able to return to painting and produced many of his very best works.
