Falkenberg Brewery 1959
Folke was commissioned to paint a picture for the main entrance at the Falkenberg Brewery by the owner Erland Skantze. Folke was his guest during the weeks it took him to complete the work. This joyful, witty, mischievous and lively painting shows three mythical Norse kings, Hunding who swam in a barrel, Hading who drowned in a barrel, and Gembrinus who loved ale and enjoyment, with many other associated characters and great activity. A captivating painting, you can hear the singing!
After the takeover of the Falkenberg Brewery, the work now hangs in the entrance lobby of Carlsberg’s modern brewery that was built nearby in 2000.
