Falun Community Centre 1958

This was Folke’s first collaboration with the architect Rolf Bergh.

Folke designed stage curtains for the large 260 seat room on the first floor, these are 400 x 500cms and were woven at Alice Lund Textilier.

Folke, who was a skilled craftsman, carved a dramatic limewood screen for the elevated window, 100 x 125cms. The carving represents the Six Days of Creation from Genesis. Lit from the back it is a powerful, striking and vibrant work.

For the Meditation Room Folke designed a stitched and woven wall decoration of ‘God’s Eye’, made by Sofia Widèn, together with silver candlesticks and an altar cloth decorated with vine tendrils.
