Sverker Brunius’ Sawmill, Töcksfors 1947
This panoramic view of the complete Töckfors Mill tells the story of all that is going on in the enterprise. It shows amazing detail including, for example, every single board on the ship’s deck, loading timber.
There is so much to see, it was obviously done to record and at the same time give joy with so much precise detail and character included. It is playful and great fun, Folke being himself here!
The work now hangs in Töcksfors Library.
It shows the mill owned and managed by the Brunius family from 1936 – 1949 who had their office in the grounds of Töcksfors Manor.
In the right of the picture we see both the two power stations and the manor house.
The lock gates are portrayed in the middle, with the Han pulp mill to the left. The picture shows how the timber is processed from tree logs to timber, pulp and paper.
Folke lived in the manor house as a guest of the family while he worked on the picture.
