Södertälje Public Library 1968
After a collective family exhibition in Södertälje, the community purchased this work. The painting represents a plea to protect the Vindel river from a proposed hydro-electric development, and for it to remain as one of Sweden’s last wild rivers. The painting shows the folklorist Bengt af Klintberg about to perform an orange “happening” in support of the campaign, and also shows river sprites in the flowing river. It measures 37 x 194cms, oil on wood, and was hanging in Södertälje Public Library in 2002.
