Brännkyrka 1959
Brännkyrka Church is thought to be the second oldest building in Stockholm. Folke was commissioned to design and make these decorative railings to herald the entrance to the Church Hall which stands a little way away from the church, as the photographs show. The railings were made in his studio with the help of his usual blacksmiths.
Folke’s fabulous sculptures in steel of the fish, the sheep and the bird are set in abstract railings and supports, perhaps conveying the wonders of the Creation, with the movement and beauty which they have. Such timeless quality, this is the work of a very great artist indeed.
