Knivsta 1963
A project of his local church’s restoration was discussed for several years, but did not result in a commission.
The concept was for 18 Biblical scenes, miniatures in lacquer, to be fixed to the pew ends. It is thought only three of the five paintings made have survived. The subjects were to be Jonah and the Whale, Samson and Delilah, Noah’s Ark, David and Goliath, Moses in the Rushes, The Journey Through the Red Sea, and The Shepherds by Night. Folke used Dutch lacquer paint and these paintings were precursors to the Engelbrekt shutters restoration.
