Skoghall 1957
Folke’s huge talent can be clearly seen in the main photograph. It is recorded that he designed the altar, the crucifix, the window, and the font.
The silver and glass crucifix was made in collaboration with the silversmith Bengt Liljedahl and Erik Högland of the Boda Glassworks.
The frame of the altar window, using the steel silhouette method, was made in Folke’s studio. The concept and pattern of the altar cloth very closely reflects the window above.
The small central window in the huge wall is immensely effective, the shape and styling of the altar itself is dramatic and together with the crucifix, window, altar and font arranged with such elevated taste, is one of the many great successes of his career and typically uses, with such mastery, so many different materials.
