Härlanda 1961
This stridently modern and stimulating church in Gothenburg was completed in 1958 to the designs of Peter Celsing after a design competition in 1952. The church had almost no figurative or other decoration at all, just plain walls, with the spaces created by them and undecorated windows. A remarkable architectural statement and achievement.
Folke was commissioned to design the carpet leading up to the altar for which he produced the geometric design shown in the photograph. The carpet was woven at Alice Lund Textilier.
